New Stedman Machine Company Copper Line Cage Mill for the Distilled Spirits Industry
The Stedman Copper Line cage mill is engineered exclusively for the distilled spirits industry to enhance the flavor profile of the product because the open discharge eliminates grain scorching and prevents the introduction of unwanted flavors. The machine’s screenless design doesn’t restrict material flow or impart unintended heat to the grain as found with other size reduction machines.
The Copper Line is ideal for reducing batch milling time for corn, wheat, rye and barley. Three Copper Line models offer a wide range of production capacities between 100 to 665 bushels per hour. Capacities vary depending on the feed size, feed rate, operating conditions, desired product output, feed material characteristics and equipment configuration.
This specialty, low-maintenance cage mill was built to meet distilleries’ demanding grain grinding specifications. Copper Line cage mills produce either a fine, medium-fine or coarse grain size throughout the milling process depending on the spacing set between cages. The consistent, standardized grain size helps the distillery achieve the uniform flavor profile of the end product. Reversible cage direction extends the life of wear parts to minimize downtime. Stedman’s testing and toll processing facility can help determine the perfect grind for distilleries’ mash.
